Facebook Launches “Self-Destructing” Messages App

Facebook launched a new app called Poke that lets you send “self-destructing” message, this way your friends will be able to receive a message, photo or videos just before they dissapear forever.

To see a message from a friend, press and hold the message until it expires.

With the Poke app, you can poke or send a message, photo, or video to Facebook friends to share what you’re up to in a lightweight way. You can poke an individual friend or several at once. Each message expires after a specific time you’ve set, either 1, 3, 5 or 10 seconds. When time runs out, the message disappears from the app.

Poke offers basically the same features than their competitor Snapchat which became popular among teenagers.

People can use Poke when they send a message or any information they don’t want to be archived on any device with confidential, personal or very irrelevant information!.

The app is free and is available in the App Store.
